The Configuration Manager client is not supported on any operating system prior to Windows 2000 Service Pack 4. Installing the Configuration Manager client is explicitly not supported on the following operating system versions:

 Windows 95
 Windows 98
 Windows Millennium Edition
 Windows XP Media Center Edition
 Windows XP Starter Edition
 Windows XP Home Edition
 Windows XP Professional, with less than Service Pack 2 applied
 Windows Vista Starter Edition
 Windows Vista Home Basic Edition
 Windows Vista Home Premium Edition
 Windows NT Workstation 4.0
 Windows NT Server 4.0
 Windows 2000 Server, Service Pack 3 and earlier
 Windows 2003 Server, with no service pack installed
 Windows CE 3.0
 Windows Mobile Pocket PC 2002
 Windows Mobile SmartPhone 2002
